Crazy idea
What if we got outdoor equipment companies like REI and North Face to work with NGOs and nonprofits to design gear for homeless and refugees. I’m thinking that just about anything a camper could use, a refugee would find useful.
The stuff would be well made and fashionable. We could do something like Toms shoes does where if someone bought a jacket, for instance, a jacket would be donated to the overall program. I’d like the designs to be simple and the materials such that this stuff could be manufactured anywear. I could even see having some of this be open sourced so anyone could make it if they had the equipment.
We could rope in designers and do limited edition gear to work like how the sneaker market works. That’ll help spread both the gear and the message.
Anyone want to see if we can make that work?
Say what you will
Say what you will but if it weren’t for George Washington, we’d all be speaking English right now.
In case you’re paying attention
In order for something to be against the law, someone has to enforce the law.
Here’s a comparison…
Imagine it’s the mid-90s and you get this press conference where Clinton is at first denying he had sexual relations with Lewinsky while he’s a receiving a blow job at the time from another intern. Through the course of the interview he goes from denial to bragging that he went back for seconds.
That’s what Trump is doing.
